Tucked in the inner part of Kingston Bay, Rocky Nook oysters came to be by three local friends who played and worked on the bay since boyhood. After a heap of hard work and good luck, John, Brooke, Greg, and Tom now produce bite-sized wonders that are fast becoming the favorite of oyster lovers and oyster triers, alike.
The Gritty Details:
Growout Method 2mm seed is upwelled in May and then placed in Vexar nursery bags until the fall. In October, they are planted directly on the tidal flats. Hand-picked at low tide or dragged during higher tides. Time to market: 1.5 to 2 years.
