Padden Shellfish, Nature's Bounty
James Padden grew up on the Hood Canal, where digging for clams, harvesting oysters and catching crabs was a regular childhood activity. An avid outdoorsman, he was looking for ways to do work that “don't feel like work” and oyster farming fits that bill. Out on the water, James marvels how what he does for work and for fun in the outdoors is not much different. In both cases, he’s on the water, in nature, responsibly harvesting what she has to offer. He lives on a lake near the Hood Canal with his wife and three children. They live on a plot of land that borders a National Park, which offers endless opportunity to get outside with his family.
